We would like to share a message from one of our Year 8 leavers, Nico (Solefield Alumni 2022) who is hoping that some of the Solefield community may sponsor him for the sleepout he is doing, to raise money for Porchlight, along with other Solefield old boys, George and Harry at Tonbridge.
"This week George, Harry and I as part of the whole Novi, are raising money for a charity called Porchlight – a local charity that works with homeless people. We will be taking part in a sleepout on the night of the 23rd May, where we are allowed to build some form of shelter from carboard boxes and only armed with a sleeping bag for any form of comfort (on the concrete of the school quad!). The aim is to experience in some small way just what it is like to be homeless and sleeping rough – although only for one night. The next day the charity run a series of workshops with us so we can truly appreciate the differing reasons as to why people can end up in these circumstances and the hurdles they face.
