Recently, nine boys took part in the Primary Maths Challenge Bonus Round, having qualified through the first round in November. The complexity of the questions reached a new level as the boys had to apply a wide range of mathematical knowledge to questions designed to try to catch them out. Working at a level considerably beyond what is expected of the boys in Year 5 and Year 6, our representatives did themselves proud.
They did so well, in fact, that four of them earned themselves a Silver Award: Malin W, Ben H, Freddie C and Leo F-G.
However, Jack C went one better and achieved the hugely impressive Gold Award. These are very rare indeed and this is the first time I have ever awarded one, so huge congratulations to Jack!
