It was wonderful to hear about all the Solefield boys that took part in the Sevenoaks Rugby Club Tournament at Chichester last weekend.
We are delighted to share news of the tournament, from parents of Solefield participants:
U11 report
"Sevenoaks Rugby Club had an extraordinary weekend at the Chichester Rugby International Youth Series tour. One team was first placed and one team came fourth, and the Sevenoaks combined teams won the overall Under 11s Cup.
The Solefield boys did you proud. Stanley N sustained a broken clavicle in the second to last match. However, he insisted on getting back to pitch-side to cheer on his teammates. He had played outstanding rugby until that point, and won the prize for outstanding player of the weekend. Maxime, Alex, and William all demonstrated extraordinary defence with their tackling and work in the ruck; gaining us valuable yards. It’s a rugby tour they will remember!
The level of rugby played over this weekend, was a step up for all players: our teams displayed real skill, uncompromising attitude, and unification."
U9 & U12 report
"Both the Under 9 and Under 12 teams were placed 3rd in the competition, which included U9 Charlie B and Oliver B, Henry N, and Aaron W (all U12).
Many congratulations to Charlie B (U9) who was voted the Most Valued Player for try scoring and defence play, and was awarded a lovely trophy. A reflection of Charlie's full commitment to the game and to his sport!
There were also several other Solefield boys who competed in the tournament, including Daniel H, and Cameron S."
