We are absolutely delighted to inform you that we have been selected from over 9000 entries as the winner of the National Young Writers' Autumn Award. This is for the Year 6 contributions to a 'A Twist in the Tale'. Guided by Head of English Mrs Snow and Support Assistant Mrs Moscatelli, our Year 6 pupils have produced creative writing of the very highest calibre.
We have a very fine trophy, a cheque for books for the library and some very happy and proud young men and staff!
A parent commented recently that "Solefield can't be bettered in terms of Teaching and Learning". This award ties in beautifully with this. Mrs snow is an inspirational and very talented teacher and it also seems fitting that our wonderful Mrs Moscatelli should receive this recognition in her last term here with us before she retires; she has also, perhaps unsurprisingly, been nominated by the boys for teacher of the week in 'The Week Junior'.
