Many congratulations from all at Solefield to Mr & Mrs Cramp on their wedding held in the October half term. Let's read all the juicy details from Mrs Cramp on their big day!
Tell us about your big day?
The wedding day was more than we could have ever imagined. The ceremony was in the gardens of the Villa, accompanied by a string trio playing With or Without You. We even had some of Mr Cramps friends as our 'Flower Dudes' (if you're not sure what these are, look for them on youtube - a great way to start the ceremony). After the ceremony, we had an aperol van and an ice-cream/gelato van with 5 different options - both being a highlight of the day for us and our guests. We had our speeches and dinner in the outside Tuscan Barn, which was lit up with colourful lights. It was so nice to be outside in October! Our wedding breakfast was a true feast of 5 courses of delicious traditional Italian food. The highlight being, a Duck Ragu Gnoccetti. Our cake was a traditional Italian wedding cake - a Millefoglie, if you haven't tried one, we highly recommend it. Whilst cutting the cake, our friends and family sang 'That's Amore', this was a lovely surprise addition to the day. Then came the first dance - a song called 'I Guess I'm in Love, by Clinton Kane, followed by a night of dancing to cheesy music. We really did have the best day.
Why did you choose Italy for your wedding?
When we got engaged, we decided to look at all options for weddings. We really liked the idea of a warm, October wedding. One of our friends suggested trying Italy and looked into lots of options for us and sent us through Villa Baroncino in Umbria which is where we had the wedding. We loved the idea that it would be in such a beautiful country, and we loved that we could be there for a whole week and have three days of wedding events rather than just one. It meant that we had beautiful weather and friends and family celebrating with us for longer.
Did you have a honeymoon?
After the wedding, we drove from Umbria up to Lake Garda for a 'mini moon' and stayed in a town called Riva Del Garda. It was such a beautiful place which almost didn't seem real. We spent four days enjoying the spa, the local towns and the lovely walks around the lake. Although we have no current plans for a full honeymoon, one will definitely be on the cards.
