After the success of Year 5 and 6 in the Primary Maths Challenge in November, it was time for Year 3 and 4 to show off their mathematical skills in the 'First Maths Challenge'.
This was the first time at Solefield we had entered boys into this event and the pupils did not disappoint. They were tasked with answering a range of mathematical puzzles, problems and teasers all designed to stretch their logic, reasoning and number skills.
Across the two year groups, 13 boys achieved a Bronze award, 10 earned Silver and 6 performed so well they merited a Gold. However, Daniel H in 4R went one better and scored Full Marks, which is a magnificent achievement.
Well done to all of the boys involved and good luck in your respective challenges next year.
