Year 8 Residential to Isle of Wight

Arthur M-C, Year 8

22nd June 2022

Our trip to the Isle of Wight began with a zoo visit. We were all relieved to arrive, as the journey had been rather extensive. After, we headed to the nearby beach for the afternoon, before heading to the Island Riding Centre (our accommodation).

The next day we went to a country park called Robin Hill, where there were multiple amusement rides. We then once again visited a nearby beach before an evening of bowling and a trip to Tesco where we all stocked up.

Waking up on day 3, we were all excited. We set out to a theme park known as Blackgang Chine (the oldest in the UK). The park featured multiple rides and a lack of queuing, coming together to form a brilliant time. We also enjoyed the refreshments and snacks on offer there; then to a beach for a while. The rest of the day was spent playing laser tag which certainly tired us out.

On our final full day, we visited a go karting track and had the time of our lives. It was most people's favourite activity, rightly so. After this, we went to the same beach as we did on the first day. Finally, we played mini golf in a dinosaur themed course.

Day 5 was a day of travel and we made it back just before the Jubilee party ended.

The trip was truly amazing and certainly a fitting part of the conclusion to our Solefield journey. I would like to thank all the staff involved for spending their free time on organising us a wonderful week.
