Max M, 5GC has been involved in helping with fundraising for a local charity that will be providing medical supplies and relief to the victims of the war in Ukraine. Max was invited by a local friend to help set up a 2nd hand toy and bake sale, with all proceeds going to a local gentleman who has set up a charity called Road to Ukraine (www.roadtoukraine.com).
The local community really turned out on the day, and the children were able to raise an impressive £1,500, as well as also collecting valuable items such as clothes, formula, nappies and medicines.
The BBC even put in an appearance and Max and his friend were interviewed about their efforts. It was a beautiful day, made so special by seeing our community united behind such a worthwhile cause. Alex in 5GC kindly donated toys and funds to help the appeal.
Please keep Arthur Smith and his convoy of medics and doctors in your thoughts as they set off to Ukraine to try and help alleviate some of the sufferings there. They depart today, Friday 18th March for an indeterminate period of time.
