Solefield finished off the Autumn Term in style with a joyous Christmas Service at the beautiful St Mary, Kippington. Being together in church for the first time in such a long time was an emotional experience. Head Chorister, Arthur M-C (Year 8) began the service with a moving solo of Once in Royal David’s City, ably supported by the Chamber Choir who sang beautifully. The Pre-Prep performed a lovely version of 'Away in a Manger' and both Junior and Senior choirs got us in the Christmas mood with their upbeat Christmas songs. A big congratulations to both Seth (4R) and Jasper (2G) for their solo singing - not a dry eye in the church! The readers, represented by one boy from each year group, spoke very clearly as they retold the Christmas story. Our thanks to Head Boy, George, who spoke of Christmas time and its importance for both the church and all families, reading with great clarity and maturity. All of this is only possible due to the hard work and dedication of Mrs Robinson and Mr Fenning who lead and organised the service superbly – thank you!
Thank you to all those who attended and contributed to our retiring collection. We will let you know how much we have raised as soon as we know.
