Finlay - Head Boy

7th July 2021

What have you done in your role as Head Boy?

I ran the first whole school assembly at the start of the new term on Zoom. I didn't find it too scary and actually thought it was really fun. I also spoke at the final prizegiving for the Year 6 leavers (and other leavers) as well as the Year 8 leavers too. I also really loved speaking to new parents looking at coming to Solefield at a virtual open morning during the second lockdown.

How has your role changed during Covid?

One big difference at prizegiving, was doing my speech in front of a fraction of people rather than a full auditorium of people. It was definitely a big moment in my life writing my speech, rehearsing it and then doing the real thing!

What have you enjoyed about your Head Boy role?

I was so happy when I was chosen for Head Boy. It is one of those things in life that you only get to do once. When I was in the Pre-Prep I would have never imagined me being a Year 8 and the Head Boy; it has been a real privilege.
