It has been a very busy and successful return to sport since term started. The boys have enjoyed several fixtures with several excellent performances and victories. Our Colts D & F teams won the plate at the Hilden Grange Football Tournament. The Colts A was able to secure the plate at the U11 Lancing Tournament and were runners up at the Sevenoaks School Futsal Tournament. With the golden boot, silver boot, golden gloves and wall of steel awards once again up for grabs this season, the boys are working hard to score goals, secure assists and keep sought after 'clean sheets'.
The seniors have been well amongst the goals with the 1st team being skippered by Chris H (8C) and have scored an impressive 9 goals in 3 games with the second team scoring 11 in 3 as well!
The U8 and U9 boys are enjoying the football season with lots of goals and some superb performances. The U8s are enjoying an undefeated season so far and the U9s have performed excellently under the watchful eyes of Mr Raymond and Mr Bowden.
As well as football, Solefield has taken part in cross-country events at the Hazelwood Relays & Somerhill School festival. All boys have run very well and it has been great to get out and compete in this tough, but enjoyable sport.
Boys have once again been put forward for the Prep School Pumas trials - a prep school district representative side. Congratulations to Aaron W (6F), Freddie D (6F) and Kristian S (6F) for making the development squad. These boys will represent England at the Gothia World Youth cup this summer.
I have loved being back in the thick of fixtures and Solefield boys continue to impress with both performances and effort levels on the pitch and literal woods of the wilderness in cross-country. As we approach the midway part of the season we still have plenty to look forward to. The U8s are looking forward to their first tournament this Saturday and the Colts A will take part in their regional competition later on in the term.
I have been very proud of each and every one of the boys so far this term and I am looking forward to seeing what the next half-term brings. Click on the video to watch our Week 5 of Sport.
