For Science Week, our pupils took part in the Sevenoaks School ‘STEMagination Week’. As part of this, our Year 7&8 Academic Scholars had the privilege of attending a virtual live session on Liquid Nitrogen. A huge thank you to Sevenoaks School for providing such an interesting, informative and fun week, which our students enjoyed immensely. Here is what some of Academic Scholars had to say:
"Our school was given the privilege of watching a liquid nitrogen show. In this show, we learned many interesting facts about the substance and we even got to see it in action. Altogether, the show blew me away and I am so grateful to the teachers who organized it". Daniel, Year 8
"The liquid nitrogen show was interesting and enjoyable and I really like how the used small experiments to teach us the science". Max, Year 8
"I thought that the liquid nitrogen show was very intriguing as they displayed impressive acts such as hammering blue tac into wood with a banana". Finlay, Year 8
“I found the liquid nitrogen show very interesting and informative. After watching the live event I learnt all about liquid nitrogen and how it can get used for fun and professionally. The best part was when the presenter turned a banana and blue tackinto a hammer and nail and actually managed to hammer a piece of blue tack in wood". Miko, Year 8
"I thought it was interesting and helped me learn a lot about temperature and its effects on certain items". Harry, Year 8
Our science teacher, Mrs Crouch, also joined in the fun on World Book Day, during our Science Week :
