I have kept the format of the menu to the same two-week spread as last term as the feedback to this was very positive. Please continue to let me have your constructive criticisms by e-mail (r.hphilps@solefieldschool.org) or via your Class Rep as this will help us to continue to improve the food we serve.

Thank you for your patience with the recent bad weather. We will try our best to provide a hot, nutritous lunch daily but, as you are aware, we have had some problems with the deliveries getting to us through the snow. I hope that this has now been resolved but we may sometimes need to substitute menus when the delivery has not arrived!

I am pleased that the majority of the produce that has always been used to cook the lunches at School is fresh, however, as you are aware we have updated some of our suppliers, in particular, the butcher that we use so that the food is of a better quality and even fresher - we now use Coldbreath's Butchers in Seal who deliver fresh meat to us daily. This does mean that the advertised meals will change at short notice if ingredients are not available but we will always try to substitute with something as similar as possible. We continually assess our suppliers with the aim of providing the best possible produce that we can, that is sourced as locally as possible.

We provide a vegetarian alternative, set out in the menus, and cater for children who have allergies or particular religious requirements. These alternatives are is for those children whose parents' have notified the School that they require them. From time to time we will have special menus which we try to link in with what the children are learning about at School, for example, in celebration of the European Week of Languages, "National Vegetarian Week", Geography Week and towards the end of the Christmas term we always have a traditional Christmas lunch.

Thank you for your continued support and bon appétit! Mrs Philps
